Power Savings Portfolio

Investors can possibly earn 2% income, using one or two ETFs that own short-term U.S. Government and investment grade bonds. This provides more income than many savings accounts, with no minimum account balance and no extra account fees. However, there is some potential for small price moves, and a small cost to buy and sell (A Beanstox Member cost of only $0.01/share, so only 0.01% for ETFs priced around $100/share). This type of investment is a Safety Net type of investment, a complement to cash in the bank, which some experts suggest should be enough to cover 3-6 months of living costs.
